The First AMISR Science Planning Workshop was held October 11–13, 2006 at Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, California, to discuss science plans for the Advanced Modular Incoherent Scatter Radar. The goal of the workshop was to explore the range of science objectives that can be achieved with this new NSF facility at the two high-latitude locations, Poker Flat, Alaska, and Resolute Bay, Nunavut, Canada. Of particular interest was the coordination of future AMISR observations with that of other instrumentation, such as optical measurements, magnetometer data, and GPS TEC data.
